Father C. John Thompson-Quartey
Father John joined the St.
Mary’s family in August of 2005. Before that, he served
as Associate Rector for Youth and Family Ministries at Christ
Church in Ridgewood, NJ from 1997 until 1999, and as Chaplain
for Pastoral Care and Director of the Community Outreach
Program at St. Paul’s School in Concord, New Hampshire
from 1999 until 2005.
Father John earned his Bachelor
of Science degree in Accounting from Rutgers University
in Newark, NJ and Master of Divinity from the General Theological
Seminary, New York City. In the diocese of New Jersey, Father
John serves as the co-chair of the Anti-Racism Committee,
the Standing Committee, and on the Stewardship Committee.
In the wider Church, he serves on the Alumni/ae Executive
Committee of the General Theological Seminary as the Province
II representative. In our community, her serves on the board
of Directors of the Interfaith Hospitality Network of Ocean
County, NJ (Family Promise); and on the board of Directors
of the Caregiver Volunteers of Central Jersey. He is married
to Jerlyn (Jeri) Thompson-Quartey, and they have three daughters:
Chauncey, Chyanne and Cheyne.
He loves listening to classical
music and Jazz.
