"Trip to Anywhere" Winner
Congratulations to Steve Kenyon! Steve had the
winning ticket number 0082 in our 2017 "Trip
to Anywhere" summer fundraising raffle.
The drawing was held on Sunday, September 17,
2017 at Saint Mary's by the Sea. Steve will
receive a certificate good for $5,000.00 worth
of travel from Bay Head Travel in Bay Head,
NJ. We want to thank everyone who participated
and contributed to the success of this event.
The proceeds go entirely to supporting the ministries
of Saint Mary's by the Sea.
CALLING ALL SUNDAY SCHOOL FAMILIES!
This Sunday, September 17th,
our Sunday school opens for the school year
and we're excited to see all our students back
to begin our new year. K-5 will meet in the
Jones Room, Rite 13 and J2A will meet in their
classrooms, all just prior to the 10 o'clock
service. The Nursery is available but not currently

HOME CHURCH GATHERINGS
Many have asked for an encore
of our Lenten Home Church gatherings, and Mother
Victoria would love to do more of them. We will
post a sign-up sheet in Farnsworth Hall. If you
would like to host a gathering in your home, please
select a date and time (generally 6:30 pm works
great), check it with Mother Victoria, and we'll
get the word out.

will join St. Mary’s for the Celebration
of New Ministry as we officially install our
new rector, Mother Victoria Pretti. More information
If there are adults who are interested
in being either Confirmed as Episcopalians (if
you've not been Confirmed in another Christian
denomination) or received by Bishop Stokes into
the Episcopal Church, during Mother Victoria's
Installation service on Sunday November 19th at
3 pm, please let Mother Victoria know ASAP, and
feel free to contact us with any questions.
VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED FOR THE
ASBURY PARK SOUP KITCHEN!!
St. Mary’s parishioners have helped the
2nd Saturday of every month for almost 30 years.
If you are able to participate, please contact
Starting in September Mother Victoria
and Deacon Janet will lead book studies between
Sunday services, beginning at 9 am. This Fall,
we will read "The Shack" by William
Paul Young, followed by "The Divine Dance"
by Richard Rohr.
MIDWEEK SERVICES & CONTEMPLATIVE
Wednesdays 11 - 12:30
Do you desire to live your life more deeply
grounded in the depths of your spirituality?
Do you want to know God in a personally experiential
way? Come and explore the mystical depths of
our Christian tradition. Starting Wednesday
October 4th, Mother Victoria
will celebrate a casual service of Holy Eucharist,
which will be followed by a small group gathering
that will focus on prayer, mystical Christianity,
and contemplative living.

On Sunday October 1st, we welcome
all family pets to come to the 10 am service as
we celebrate the feast of St. Francis with a Blessing

COMMUNITY FRIENDSHIP DINNER
St. Mary’s will be hosting the Community
Friendship Dinner on Sunday, October 8, 2017,
at Harvey United Methodist Church. We need volunteers
to provide supplies for the meal and to provide
pans of baked ziti. We also need help with the
cooking, serving and clean-up. If you would
like to lend a hand please sign up in Farnsworth
